Epsom & Ewell Borough Council – Borough Insight magazine
Brief: Considering the readership demographic, the brief was to modernise and update the design and page layout for Borough Insight and increase advertising income.

Distribute to 32,000 households and some 1,400 copies to various local outlets.
New pre-publishing designs and layouts were created, with particular attention being made to enhance the photography for each page. The use of infographics was added to maximise readability.
The paper stock was changed from 60gsm silk to 90gsm uncoated.
A PDF version, with Council and advertiser hyperlinks, was created, to be viewed on the Council’s website.
Advertising pages were standardised and a classified sales section was created. Prime advertising sites within the magazine to maximise income generation.
A modern, up-to-date, stylish, and easy-to-read magazine with 98% distribution coverage and advertising income was increased by 130% and page yields were improved.
PPL contracted Royal Mail Door 2 Door to distribute Borough Insight, achieving 98% coverage.
