NFL International Games 2023 – it’s a wrap!

The 2023 NFL International Games kicked off on October 1st with the first of three back-to-back games in London, starting at Wembley Stadium before moving across to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The games then moved to Frankfurt for two games over consecutive weekends, 5th & 12th November.

The PPL Group are the official publisher of the NFL London Games and NFL Frankfurt Games Souvenir programmes.

PPL are responsible for designing, editing, and publishing the programmes, working with sports journalists we create unique exclusive content. Each programme features previous game reviews, a deep dive into the teams and players, game day and stadium information.

Appointed in 2021, by the National Football League (NFL), PPL were tasked with changing the overall look and feel of the NFL London Games programme, increasing advertising income and improving direct sales to the fans.

The programmes are a fan-friendly, easy-to-carry landscape booklet, size 168 mm x 240 mm.  They are illustrated with exciting action photography to enhance the readership and add impact to the features.  The front cover design included Spot UV on Matt paper, with barcodes applied.

To meet the production and print deadlines, page plans, and print schedules were prepared in advance showing feature and advert positions. Editorial, production, and printing deadlines were defined to streamline the production of the programmes.  Advertising pages were standardised, with some pages given prime position to help to maximise income generation, we also included a classified sales section as a further revenue stream.

The PPL event management team were on site to oversee the sales operations, and at all five games Fanatics the official retailer of the NFL, sold the programmes throughout the game day retail outlets.  The programme was also available to purchase online in both physical and digital formats.
